My Bio
I'm Joanne/Jo/Jeaux/Moley - I love photography and art, but I'm still a learner.
I love going out photographing with my friend Helen (helen-of-the-dead) and she has taught me much and generally encouraged my photography whims!
I'll photograph anything - flowers, animals, buildings, views. Not fussed - if I like the look of it I'll photograph it!
When not photographing or drawing I'm usually writing stories or watching the TV.
That's about it. Hope you like my photographs. Jxx

So after joining lots of groups I've just left one. I submitted a good photograph and got it declined with no explanation. When I asked why I was given the answer 'I declined your photograph for quality reasons'. One of said photographs has been favourited 9 times already. OK to those who have loads of watchers that isn't many, but for me that's a lot. Given some of the crap the group accepts I'm intrigued to know why my photographs weren't good enough. I left a responses which, admittedly, was a little harsh and probably makes me sound like a poor loser, but honestly I believe what I said to be the truth. I basically told them they should c

Ooh this group thingy is fun!! Not just because I get to inflict my own photos on a wider audience, but also because I see more photos by more awesome artists now! I know, I could have just done searches before, but let's face it - deviantwatch is just the much easier way of keeping up with what's good and what's not. And as the photos from all the groups I've joined have shown up in my messages I've gone 'favourite-happy'. I've lost count of how many awesome photos I've put in my favourites. So many I had to create little folders so I could organise them all. Given that I'm not a full member yet (must get around to that soon!) I can't add

So Helen suggested I submit some of my photographs to some groups... A few days later I've joined about 7 groups. Mostly flower groups, but also a couple of cat ones and a dog one. I'm loving getting feedback from 'impartial' photography-bods, and it's really nice to come on and find my work being favourited so often. Now if I could just get some more watchers I'd be happy. Of course I love my 2 watchers I already have, and you will forever be my favourites ;-) but I'd still like some new ones. Also noteworthy is the fact that I've got a new phone with a truly awesome camera on it! It's only 5megapixels but the quality is brilliant and it

She takes incredible photographs, and more importantly, of one of your faourite subjects :)
Enjoy x
Ah, the lady with Lorich the rat (and several others)! Yes, I have seen (and favourited) quite a few of her photographs. She posts them to the rodent group I watch. She has mega cute ratties!
xx
I will be happy to give you feedback if you had asked.

9 favorites in a day does not make a picture "good" by any means. It looked like a normal shot, with normal settings, and nothing special done in any way. ACtually I just checked your profile and there are several pictures I can remember turning away.
I don't require the skill of a "professional" as you say. I just require that people put a bit of effort into their work, and don't simply just take a photo. That's what I saw with your photos.

Now, that's not saying that they are terrible. Not by any means. But using the number of favorite you've received as a means to define your art as good quality is very off-putting.
I specialize in photoshop, and take good care of my photos to ensure that they look their best and look appealing to the eye.

Now, since you clearly want some feedback on your photos, I'm going to give you some in-depth critique on the photos I rejected, on their deviation page.
